The Grow School is a therapeutic day school. School Adjustment Counselor is part of a team, providing services to students in accordance with individual education plans and programming within therapeutic milieu. Individual, small group therapy and social emotional learning instruction is part of duties. Regular coordination with wrap around services and families is necessary. DESE School Adjustment Counselor license and either LMHC or LICSW preferred.
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, provide individual tutorial instruction and behavioral support to assigned student(s).
Nurse works in SWCEC Programs as assigned, primarily with medically fragile population.
Duties include: maintain comprehensive health care records for assigned Collaborative sites ensuring current physical examinations, immunizations, screenings and pertinent health data that affect a student’s well-being throughout the day, provide medically prescribed interventions, including medication administration (prescription and OTC) on both a scheduled and as needed basis, in accordance with State regulations and program policy, develop and maintain Individual Healthcare Plans for required students, maintain current inventory of nursing/medical supplies and equipment at assigned Collaborative sites, participate in meetings with the Collaborative nursing team to facilitate goals, best practice, and plans for the health care department, conduct staff educational in-services on topics including but not limited to: EpiPen/life threatening allergies, tube feeding and seizure precautions and care, work collaboratively with the School Nurse Leader, educational staff and parents in resolving non complex health concerns.
RN preferred, LPN considered. DESE license preferred.
Special Education Assistant at SWCEC works in self contained classroom serving students with autism and other neurological disabilities. Duties include implementing instruction, implementing behavior support plans, collecting data, conducting individual discreet trials and supporting life skills development. ABA technician, knowledge of behavior management and ability to successfully complete physical management training is necessary. Possession of a 7D license is preferred.
This is a 210 day position with benefits aligned with collective bargaining agreement.
Speech Pathologist is part of Collaborative team, responsible for evaluations and services for students based on their individual education plans. Work with SWCEC program students and students within member districts. Ability to provide professional development for member districts preferred. Supervision of speech assistant may be part of duties. Some local travel required. DESE and ASHA licences required.
Candidate would provide speech therapy services based on student education plans, under the direction and supervision of speech pathologist. Services provided in SWCEC programs or in member districts. Experience with autism, augmentative communication, assistive technology and language learning disabilities preferred.
Special Education teacher is teacher of record for math and science courses in The Grow School. Lesson planning, curriculum design, assessment and IEP development among duties. Work as part of a team within The Grow High School. A DESE approved therapeutic day school as part of The Southern Worcester County Educational Collaborative. Appropriate DESE licensure required.
Art Teacher responsible for curriculum and instruction in the visual arts domain K-12 in a small therapeutic day school. Collaboration with classroom teachers, school counselors and other unified arts teachers is important to ensure high quality inter-disciplinary lessons and opportunities or students. DESE license required.
Permanent substitute provides support to The Grow School. Duties include covering classes, filling in for absent teacher and potentially support for lesson planning. Permanent substitute teacher is member of behavior support team. Candidate should have DESE teaching license and successfully complete provided physical management training.
The custodian/maintenance supervisor will ensure students and staff have a safe and clean environment. The work involves cleaning, repairing and maintenance of interior and exterior of property. Provides leadership, supervises and assigns work to SWCEC custodians, conducts custodial performance evaluations and manages maintenance requirements. Strong communication skills and coordination with SWCEC administration required.
