The T.E.A.C.C.H. Preschool
The T.E.A.C.C.H. Preschool located at the Charlton Elementary School consists of 1 teacher and several assistance. The classroom services children between the ages of 3 and 7 years of age.
The primary teaching methods implemented in the classroom are T.E.A.C.C.H. (treatment and education of autistic and other related communication handicapped children) and A.B.A. (applied behavior analysis).
Methodology of instruction is delivered through one to one, small and large group sessions. The curriculum of the Collaborative preschool is “theme” based and is aligned with the Massachusetts State Frameworks.
The program runs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:50 AM to 2:50 PM and Wednesdays from 8:50 AM to 12:00 PM.
The classroom schedule includes a morning circle, work sessions, small and whole group activities, playtime, music and movement, self-help skills, hygiene, snack, lunch, rest and toilet training.
Therapeutic services such as speech, occupational and physical therapy are provided as outlined in individual students' IEP’s.
This program offers a six week summer component.
